SMART stands for:

  • Specific - what you want to do and exactly what level do you want your actions to reach?
  • Measurable - what evidences [facts, behaviours, perceptions, stakeholders’ testimonies] can be collected to demonstrate achievements?
  • Appropriate - it must be acceptable to all key stakeholders;
  • Realistic - feasible, neither too ambitious or so easy as to lose interest;
  • Time-bound - a time limit must be set.
